Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has declared that his administration's main focus is to elevate the region into a global tourism hub. This announcement was made during his visit to the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Pavilion at the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2025, Asia's largest travel trade event, held at the Jio World Convention Centre.

The OTM event, which spans from January 30 to February 1, gathers exhibitors and buyers from around the world. It serves as a platform for destinations to present their unique attractions. This year, Jammu and Kashmir impressed with 120 tourism trade and travel operators showcasing the region's exceptional tourism potential.
Tourism Promotion Efforts
Abdullah highlighted his government's steadfast dedication to promoting tourism. He stated, "Tourism is a top priority for our government, and we are dedicated to positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a global tourism hotspot." The Chief Minister interacted with various stakeholders, including travel operators, artisans, and tourism officials, discussing their participation arrangements.
The pavilion at the event displayed Jammu and Kashmir's stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. It aimed to demonstrate why the region is an essential destination for travelers worldwide. Abdullah conducted a thorough inspection of the pavilion, commending the creative efforts to showcase Jammu and Kashmir's diverse offerings.
