The Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign in Gurugram has received robust support from the industrial sector, with over 4,000 participants planting saplings to promote environmental awareness. This initiative addresses air pollution concerns and encourages public participation in creating a greener future.
The "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to raise environmental awareness and encourage tree planting. This campaign has garnered significant backing from Haryana's industrial sector, as noted in an official statement released on Saturday.

On Saturday, a special tree-planting event took place at IMT Manesar. Over 4,000 industry representatives participated in the sapling plantation. The event was attended by Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, Haryana Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh, and senior district officials.
Industrial Support for Environmental Campaign
The plantation activities were conducted simultaneously at five prominent locations in Manesar. Union Minister Manohar Lal highlighted the necessity of planting trees, stating that each person needs about 15 trees throughout their life. He emphasised the importance of everyone taking responsibility to plant at least this number of trees.
Manohar Lal also pointed out that districts like Gurugram are experiencing increased air pollution due to urban and industrial growth. He stressed that public participation campaigns like this are crucial in addressing these environmental challenges. The minister praised the active involvement of industrial organisations in the initiative.
Commitment to a Greener Future
Industry representatives at the event expressed their commitment to the campaign. They pledged to plant more trees within their factory premises and surrounding areas. This collective effort aims to establish a greener legacy for future generations.
The campaign's success is attributed to the enthusiastic participation of various industries. Their support underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting environmental sustainability and combating pollution.
This initiative reflects a growing awareness of environmental issues and a shared responsibility among industries and individuals to contribute positively to ecological conservation.
