T T Jagannathan, known as the Kitchen Mogul, passed away in Bengaluru at 77. He was the Chairman Emeritus of TTK Prestige, a company his grandfather TT Krishnamachari founded. Jagannathan's contributions to the company spanned over five decades. TTK Prestige announced his passing on October 9, 2025, expressing deep sorrow and acknowledging the significant loss to the company.

Jagannathan's educational background was impressive. He was a gold medalist from IIT Chennai and held a PhD in operations research from Cornell University. His leadership at TTK Prestige began in 1975 when he joined as Managing Director. He served in this role for over 26 years before becoming Executive Chairman until 2019.
TTK Prestige's Growth and Innovation
Under Jagannathan's leadership, TTK Prestige became a market leader in small appliances. The company's market cap exceeded one billion dollars, thanks to his strategic vision and innovative approach. He played a crucial role in transforming the company, making it debt-free with what he described as "a huge dose of common sense."
Jagannathan was passionate about cooking, often saying, "If you don't know how to cook, then you are not in the cooking business." This passion fueled his drive for innovation within the kitchen industry. His book, "Disrupt and Conquer-How TTK Prestige became a Billion Dollar Company," chronicles the company's journey from bankruptcy to success.
Legacy of Leadership
Jagannathan's tenure at TTK Prestige saw him contribute significantly to product development and technological advancements. His efforts were pivotal in establishing the company as a total kitchen solutions provider. He stepped down as Executive Chairman in 2019 but continued as Non-Executive Director until March 25, 2025.
The TTK Group, established in 1928 as an indenting agency, evolved into a renowned kitchen products brand across India under Jagannathan's guidance. His leadership not only ensured successful management but also provided technical inputs crucial for developing novel products.
TTK Prestige acknowledged Jagannathan's outstanding contributions in their latest annual report. His ability to manage affairs successfully and provide necessary technical insights was instrumental in the company's growth. His unexpected demise leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all associated with the company.
