Vedanta Share Price Today: Anil Agarwal-owned mining conglomerate Vedanta may see fresh developments in its proposed demerger plan, as the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has scheduled to hold the final hearing on Wednesday, October 8. Vedanta Demerger Plan
The metal-to-mining conglomerate, Vedanta, is under the spotlight as its proposed demerger awaits NCLT clearance. Vedanta is aiming to split into five distinct businesses linked to Aluminium, Oil & Gas, Power, Steel and Ferrous Materials, along with Base Metals.
Vedanta, on September 30, had announced an extension of its demerger deadline to March 2026. The demerger deadline extension has come as the group awaits crucial government approval.
Vedanta Demerger: What Will Change For Investors?
Vedanta shareholders will receive one share in each new entity for every share they currently hold in the Vedanta group. This strategic move aims to streamline operations and enhance focus within each sector.
Vedanta Demerger NCLT Hearing Today: What To Expect?
The final hearing at the NCLT is scheduled for Wednesday. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) presented its case during earlier proceedings. As NCLT is likely to announce its judgment on Vedanta demerger proposals, it will mark the trajectory and timeline of the company's proposal.
Earlier, Vedanta's legal team addressed all necessary clarifications in response to MoPNG's application. The judgment on this matter was reserved, with the scheme set for today's final hearing. This follows the resolution of a long-standing dispute with SEPCO concerning Vedanta's power business.
