Over 250 passengers, including Indians, have been stuck at a Turkish airport for more than a day. Their Virgin Atlantic flight from London to Mumbai was diverted to Diyarbakir due to a medical emergency. Virgin Atlantic is considering various options, such as sending another plane, to get passengers to Mumbai quickly.

The airline explained that the VS358 flight from Heathrow to Mumbai on April 2 had to be cancelled. This was due to an urgent medical diversion to Diyarbakir. After landing, the A350-1000 aircraft encountered a technical problem, which is currently being addressed.
Passenger Experiences and Airline Response
A passenger reported that they were sitting on the floor without blankets. Additionally, there was no vegetarian food available. Virgin Atlantic later stated that passengers were given hotel accommodations and refreshments in Turkey.
Hanuman Dass, a passenger, shared on X that over 300 Indians and British citizens were in a dire situation in Turkey. He mentioned his family was among those affected. "Doing nothing to help the people, 1 toilet for 300 people and held in a confined space for over 15 hours," he posted.
Efforts to Resolve the Situation
Virgin Atlantic is actively working on solutions, including deploying an alternative aircraft. The goal is to transport passengers to Mumbai as soon as possible. The airline's statement emphasised their commitment to resolving the issue swiftly.
Dass also noted that passengers had been without information for 27 hours since departing London. He expressed frustration over the lack of communication and assistance from Virgin Atlantic staff during this period.
The airline's efforts continue as they explore all possible options to ensure passengers reach their destination safely and promptly. The situation remains challenging for those stranded, highlighting the importance of timely communication and support in such circumstances.
