Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's breakfast on Saturday morning raised multiple eyebrows amid reports of rift in the Congress party. The high-stakes breakfast conversation was followed by a press conference by the two leaders. In the press conference, Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar made it clear that there were "no differences" between them.
A meeting between the two ministers came days after DK Shivakumar's supporters pressed for Shivakumar as the next chief minister, as per media reports.

What Happened Between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar?
-After their meeting over Idli-Sambar and Upma, Siddaramaiaah, and Shivakumar reaffirmed that the state government is united over leadership. Both leaders said that they have decided to follow whatever the decision of the party high command will be and resolve any "confusion".
"We have decided that we will follow whatever the high command says. There will be no confusion from tomorrow. There is still no confusion. Some media reporters have created the confusion," CM Siddaramaiah said during a press conference.
-The meeting between the two leaders, which was held earlier in the morning, included crucial discussions over Karnataka's priorities and the plan for the remaining years of the present government for the state's development.
-Additionally, the two leaders also discussed their agenda for the 2028 elections and the upcoming local body elections, reported ANI. Talking about the breakfast meeting, the Chief Minister said that they both "just had breakfast" after Congress' General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal asked Siddaramaiah to invite DK Shivakumar and A S Ponnanna
-"Our agenda is the 2028 elections. Local body elections are important. We discussed them. We also discussed bringing back Congress in the 2028 elections. We discussed that we will go together. There are no differences between us and there will be no differences in the future," he said.
-DK Shivakumar also put an end to rumours about division in the party. Addressing the concerns related to the matter, the party leader said, "Politically, we are of the same decision that what high command says we followed the same and in the future also there is no groupism within our party. All MLAs and party needs to be made strong to bring back the government in 2028."
The development has come days after Shivakumar's supporters strengthened their demand to make him the state CM. The matter is appeared to have been solved amicably by the Congress High Commands as of now. Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi is expected to meet the two leaders as well as other MLAs soon.
