To bring all academic records of a student under one system, the Government of India has introduced APAAR-Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. This initiative assigns a unique 12-digit identification number to students, enabling them to store and access their academic records, such as scorecards, marksheets, grade sheets, diplomas, degrees, certificates, and co-curricular achievements in single digital place.
This digital academic identity has been introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and is a collaborative effort between the Government of India and the Ministry of Education. The scheme follows the vision of "One Nation, One Student ID," ensuring a unified and seamless academic experience for students across the country.
