Diwali 2026: Dhanteras, Narak Chaturdashi, Choti Diwali Date
The extended Diwali 2026 calendar begins with Dhanteras on Friday, November 6. Narak Chaturdashi, also called Choti Diwali, follows on Saturday, November 7, ahead of the main Lakshmi Pujan day.
Govardhan Puja 2026 Date
The celebrations do not end with Diwali night itself and continue for two more days. Govardhan Puja, also known as Annakut, is scheduled for Monday, November 9. Bhai Dooj, also referred to as Yama Dwitiya, will be observed on Tuesday, November 10. Each date carries separate rituals and spiritual meanings for devotees.

Devotees planning Lakshmi Puja in 2026 have a specific window recommended by Drik Panchang. The Lakshmi Puja Muhurat is from 05:54 PM to 07:50 PM on November 8. This auspicious span lasts 1 hour 56 minutes, during which worshippers are advised to perform the core rituals at home or in community spaces.
Traditional calculations also mention the relevant evening periods linked with Diwali puja. Pradosh Kaal runs from 05:31 PM to 08:09 PM, while Vrishabha Kaal matches the Lakshmi Puja Muhurat from 05:54 PM to 07:50 PM. Amavasya Tithi starts at 11:27 AM on November 8, 2026, and ends at 12:31 PM on November 9, 2026.
