Wipro shares in trade on April 5, 2022 have been trading with minor gains in line with the broader markets. The stock is to trade ex-dividend today. The IT major for the fiscal year 2022 declared an interim dividend in total of Rs 6.

Further the interim dividend amount for which the stock shall trade ex-dividend from today is Rs. 5. This dividend amount has also been the highest decided and approved amount for the fiscal year 2022.
With the dividend that comes from the company's profits and reserves, there is also a change in price of the share and this stock price change gets reflected on the ex-dividend date that for Wipro is today i.e. April 5, 2022. This means that only those shares who bought Wipro shares by Monday will be eligible for the said dividend as the same shall be available in their demat account holdings by April 6, 2022.
Talking about the company's dividend history, prior to the current time, the company declared Rs. 5 and Rs. 7 dividend on 6th January, 2016 and April 21, 2022, respectively.Though in a general sense, the share price should have fallen, but as markets are buoyant there is seen gains on the stock which last at 9:40 am traded at Rs. 607, a tad higher and while at day's high it hit a price of Rs. 609.5 per share.
Nevertheless with the progress of the trading session, the stock fell by a tad to last trade at Rs. 600.45.
