Online food delivery platform Zomato has raised the platform fee charged to food delivery customers for the second time in a year. The food delivery giant has raised its platform fee by Rs 2.5 per order.
The hike in platform fee has come as part of an attempt to channelise rising logistic costs and improve profitability. The recent hike amounts to a 19% hike in Zomato platform fee cost. Here's a breakdown of how much Zomato users may have to pay for your next Zomato order.

Zomato Platform Fee Hike: How Much You Will Have To Pay For Your Next Order?
A Zomato order generally includes multiple costs like the food item price, restaurant packaging charges, delivery partner fee for 1km, platform fee, 'Feeding India Donation' and GST charges.
As per the information available on Zomato platform, a user (residing in Noida, Uttar Pradesh), would require to pay a platform fee of Rs 14.9. Earlier the platform fee was fixed at Rs 12.5 per order. There will also be other additions like 'Feeding India donation of Rs 3', and partner fee. Users can opt out of the donation cost.
Partner fee by Zomato includes a base fee of Rs 39 per order plus Rs 2 per km. The platform also charges 'Small order fee' of Rs 15 per order. However, it is exempted if the order is above Rs 150.
The restaurant packaging charges are decided and charged by the restaurant or eateries owners.
So next time if you will order food from Zomato, your order will include a higher platform fee, and additional charges as usual.
Zomato Platform Fee Hiked For Second Time In Year
The hike in platform fee by Zomato came after the the online food delivery service provider made a small revision in September 2025. With this, Zomato is now in close competition to Swiggy, which also charges a platform fee of Rs 14.99 per order including taxes.
Swiggy, Zomato's main food delivery rival, is presently billing users Rs 14.99 per order with taxes included, and the two services usually adjust such fees in tandem.
Zomato Platform Fee Hike Amid Rapido Entry In Segment
The latest increase in Zomato's platform fee appears as competition in food delivery widens, with urban mobility startup Rapido rolling out its service Ownly in Bengaluru. Rapido has stated that it will not impose any extra platform fees on customers or restaurants, apart from a delivery charge, potentially adding pressure on existing players' pricing strategies.
