V-Mart Retail Ltd, a small-cap retail player with a market capitalisation of Rs. 1830 crore, traded ex-bonus today. The stock rallied nearly 5% intraday, closing at Rs 929 on Monday, June 23, after a 3:1 bonus share issue.
Recently On May 2nd the company's Board of Directors approved a 3:1 bonus issue, meaning shareholders will receive three additional fully paid equity shares for every one share they already hold. Each share has a face value of Rs 10. The record date for which was today. Only investors who hold shares at the end of today will qualify to receive the bonus shares.

V-Mart Retail shares closed at Rs 929.00, gaining Rs 39.80 or 4.48% in Monday's session. Over the past month, the stock has climbed 9.23%, and in the last three months, it has surged nearly 28%. Recently, the stock price adjusted from Rs 3,558 to Rs 929 per share following the 3:1 bonus issue. This drop is a normal price realignment that occurs when the number of shares increases due to corporate actions like bonus shares, splits, or rights issues. While the share price gets adjusted, the overall value of the investor's holding remains the same, but they now own more shares.

In a recent report dated 3rd June, Systematix Research noted that V-Mart Retail posted a strong 8% same-store sales growth in Q4 FY25, supported by aggressive store expansion. The company recorded a 16.7% year-on-year revenue growth, driven largely by steady demand in the value fashion segment. However, the premium fashion category continued to see sluggish demand. Systematix has maintained a 'HOLD' rating on the stock, with a target price of Rs. 3,588 and a previous market price of Rs. 3,450 before the bonus adjustment.
V-Mart Q4 Financial Performance
V-Mart posted a net profit of ₹18.51 crore in Q4 FY25, which ended March 31, 2025, compared to a loss of Rs. 38.92 crore in Q4 FY24. Its revenue jumped to over Rs 780 crore, marking a 16-17% year-on-year growth from Rs 668.60 crore. EBITDA also saw a strong rise, growing from Rs. 40 crore to Rs. 68 crore year on year.
