Air India Maharaja Club Loyalty Programme Changes: In a major update for Maharaja Club Loyalty Club, Air India introduced major changes in the programme. The airline has cut many award redemption rates, eased tier qualification on flight counts and has even added tier-based change fees.
The airline has also widened certain benefits which had limitations earlier for travellers. Here are latest developments about Air India Maharaja Club Loyalty Programme changes.

Air India Maharaja Club Loyalty Programme Changes From April 1 | Key Highlights
The loyalty programme is revised from April 1. The airline has announced changes on ways members can earn and use points. The airline has cut many award redemption rates, eased tier qualification on flight counts, added tier-based change fees, and widened some benefits to travelling companions.
Revised Rewards Structure
Under the revised award structure, the number of points needed for most award flights and upgrades has also declined across much of Air India's network. From April 1 onwards, economy class air travellers would now require 30% fewer points on average on many domestic and international routes.
Air India Maharaja Club Award Redemption Changes
Domestic award tickets in the Maharaja Club will now start from 1,500 points. Air India has revised redemption slabs by region for international travel. As per Air India press release, one-way award flights start from 35,000 points for Europe, 40,000 points for the United States and Australia, and 50,000 pointws for Canada.
Air India Maharaja Club Tiers, Fees and Benefits
Air India has also introduced a tier-based system for cancelling and rescheduling Maharaja Club award bookings. People can modify tickets without a fee within set timelines linked to their tier. After those windows, a flat charge is applied. Points used for upgrades are refunded when tickets are cancelled, subject to conditions.
Qualification for Maharaja Club tiers now needs fewer flights, although spending thresholds stay the same. The revised flight counts apply retrospectively to journeys flown in the past 12 months. Selected benefits, including priority services and lounge access, will extend to one co-passenger listed on the same booking as an eligible member.
"Our Maharaja Club members are at the heart of Air India's ongoing transformation. These enhancements are designed to ensure that every Maharaja Point they earn carries more meaning, more flexibility, and more possibility. They reflect months of listening to our most frequent flyers, who were candid about what worked well and where the programme needed to evolve. We've taken that feedback seriously and made changes that matter most to them, ensuring that Maharaja Club remains relevant, rewarding, and future-ready," noted Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India.
