The largest private sector lender, HDFC Bank has announced key changes to its Regalia First Credit Card, especially for users accessing lounges benefits while travelling. The new rules will come into effect from December 1, 2023.
On its website, HDFC Bank said, "Effective December 1st, 2023, Complimentary lounge access at lounges within and outside India can no longer be availed on Regalia First Card."

It announced key changes in lounge benefits at airports within India. These are:
- 8 complimentary access per calendar year within India ( both domestic and international terminals) using Visa / MasterCard Regalia First Credit Card.
- Swipe your Regalia First credit card to avail the complimentary lounge access.
- Visits exceeding the complimentary quota will be allowed at the discretion of the lounge and will also be chargeable by the lounge.
- Visa Customers will be charged a transaction fee of Rs. 2 on their Visa Regalia First Credit card towards complimentary lounge access.
- For Mastercard customers, Rs 25 get debited from the customers' card account for authorisation purpose but it will get reversed. While for Visa and RuPay Cards, Rs 2 will be charged to the card account as a transaction for validation
Eligible lounges at airports in India are Terminal 3 in Delhi, terminal 2 in Mumbai, and Terminal 1 in Karnataka, West Bengal, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. Also, on terminal 4 of the international terminal at Tamil Nadu airport.
To use the Participating Airport Lounge, the customer's card must be validated at the point of entry by swiping a transaction of a nominal charge. If the customer has exceeded the quota of complimentary domestic airport lounge accesses as per the Product feature the transaction will get declined and the same will be informed to the customer by the lounge personnel.
All usage of the Participating Airport Lounges under the Program is conditional upon the presentation of a valid eligible Card, and the Bank, in its sole and absolute discretion, may alter, cancel, or amend eligibility of any credit card, or card feature/benefits, at any time without prior notice, as per HDFC Bank.
Also, notably, the offer is not transferable, non-negotiable and cannot be en-cashed.
For lounge benefits at airports outside India, key changes will be:
- Customers can apply for Priority Pass for themselves or /and add on members post doing 4 retail transactions on their HDFC Bank Regalia First Credit.
- Using Priority Pass, you and your add-on member can together avail up to 3 complimentary access per calendar year outside India.
- Customers exceeding the 3 complimentary visits would be charged at US $27 + GST per visit.
- Using Priority Pass in India will attract charges on your Credit Card.
- These charges will be billed on your subsequent statement within 90 days of the date of the visit & this transaction will not accrue Reward Points.
- The currency conversion rate would be as per the exchange rate on the day of billing.
- Notably, existing Priority Pass members who would want to apply for an add-on Priority Pass Card or report a loss/expiry should contact their Relationship Manager / Phone Banking or please write to our Customer Services center.
