With effect from today, Friday, November 21, Kotak Mahindra Bank has revised its Fixed Deposit (FD) interest rates for all tenures. The bank is now providing interest rates between 6.25% and 6.40% for maturities ranging from one to five years as a result of the modification. Both new depositors and current customers seeking to renew their FDs have been affected by the modification. The bank's latest action has garnered a lot of attention because the maximum interest rate that is allowed is 6.70%. With effect from November 21, 2025, Kotak Mahindra Bank has updated its Fixed Deposit (FD) interest rates for domestic, NRO, and NRE clients. For deposits under Rs 3 Cr, regular and senior citizen investors would receive different rates of return.

The rates range from 2.75% for very short-term deposits of 7-30 days to 3.00% for tenure buckets of 31-45 days, 3.50% for tenure buckets of 46-90 days, 5.00% for tenure buckets of 91 days, 4.25% for tenure buckets of 92-179 days, 5.75% for tenure buckets of 180 days, 5.75% for tenure buckets of 181-270 days.
Fixed deposits from Kotak Mahindra Bank that mature between 271 and 364 days will yield an interest rate of 6.00%, while those that mature between 365 and 389 days will provide an interest rate of 6.25%.
Customers of Kotak Mahindra Bank would receive interest rates of 6.50% on FDs that mature in 390 days (12 months and 25 days) and 6.70% on FDs that mature in 391 days to less than two years. Kotak Mahindra Bank offers regular interest rates of 6.40% for longer tenures of two to five years and 6.25% for maturities of five years and more up to and including ten years.
"The interest rate for fixed deposits with Kotak Bank varies with maturity period, deposit amount, type of depositor, etc. For instance, the rates on fixed deposits are higher for resident senior citizen individuals (age 60 years & above) compared to residing Indians under the age of 60 years, exception being FDs made through the feature of ActivMoney or Non-withdrawable FD, whereby senior citizen rate benefit is not offered)," mentioned Kotak Mahindra Bank on its website.
An individual can open a fixed deposit account with at least the minimum amount required by Kotak Mahindra Bank, which is Rs. 5,000. For a fixed deposit, there are several ways to withdraw interest. You have three options for paying out the FD interest amount with Kotak Mahindra Bank: cumulative, monthly, or quarterly. In order to provide higher flexibility, the bank now permits depositors to take partial or early withdrawals from fixed deposit accounts.
