Telecom stocks as well as other related stocks have been on the upside in trade on Tuesday (December 28, 2021). This is after the DoT has come up with a list of some major cities for the impending roll out of 5G technology. "These Metros and big cities would be the first places for launch of 5G services in the country, next year," the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) said on Monday.

TTML and MTNL in trade today have both hit upper circuit in trade today with prices settling at Rs. 178.9 and Rs. 38.95, respectively.
Meanwhile, other players in the segment such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone ended the trading session with gains of just over 0.66 percent and 2 percent, respectively. As per the DoT, the 5G roll out will be made initially in Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Jamnagar.
Other 5G players that saw gains in trade today include Sterlite, Tejas, Tata Communications etc.
