Many employees depend on their Provident Fund (PF) savings as a financial cushion for emergencies and future needs. While money is deposited into the PF account every month, withdrawal delays are still one of the common problems for thousands of workers. If your PF claim is stuck, there's now a simple solution: you can withdraw your PF amount digitally through the Umang app, a government platform to access EPFO services.
Umang App: Why Employees Face PF Withdrawal Issues
The UMANG app is the official & the only portal for EPFO services. From 1 August 2025, EPFO mandated that all new Universal Account Numbers (UANs) and activations be done exclusively through the UMANG app using Facial Authentication Technology (FAT).

Despite the EPFO's digital upgrades, PF claims often get delayed due to incomplete KYC, Aadhaar-bank mismatches, errors in personal details, or issues with employer verification. In such cases the Umang app helps overcome many of these challenges.
How to Withdraw PF Money Using the Umang App
Here's a step-by-step guide to withdrawing your PF through Umang:
1. Download and install the Umang app, which is available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
2. Register or sign in using your mobile number and verify via OTP.
3. On the home screen, search for "EPFO" and tap on "Employee Centric Services".
4. Open 'Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C & 10D). This section allows you to file different PF-related claims, including:
- Form 31 for partial withdrawal
- Form 19 for Final PF settlement
- Form 10C for pension withdrawal
- Form 10D for pension claim
5. Make sure your UAN is linked with Aadhaar, and your bank details are correctly updated on the EPFO portal.
6. Fill in the details, choose the type of withdrawal (full, partial, or pension), and submit your request online.
7. Under the 'Track Claim' section, you can monitor the status of your PF claim anytime.
Important Tips For Faster PF Withdrawal
Activate your UAN and update complete KYC details like Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account.
Make sure Aadhaar-based eKYC is approved for quicker verification.
Claims usually get processed within a few weeks if all documents match.
For unresolved issues, you can raise an official EPFO grievance directly through the app.
