With strict movement regulations and non-availability of transport facilities, many bank account holders are unable to visit banks or ATMs to withdraw cash for their needs, especially in the rural and remote areas.
To provide essential services like cash withdrawal to its customers, major banks like SBI (State Bank of India), HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank have come forward to provide doorstep banking services that include cash delivery and pickup.
This service was earlier available only to senior citizens but is now extended to everyone for a fee of Rs 100 to 200, depending on the type of transaction and bank.

State Bank of India
SBI's doorstep services include cash pickup, cash delivery, cheque pickup, cheque requisition slip pickup, form 15H pickup, delivery of drafts, delivery of term deposit advice, life certificate pickup and KYC documents pickup.
A service request can be made at toll-free number 1800111103 between 9 am to 4 pm on bank working days at the centre.
It will be available only to KYC compliant customers with a valid registered mobile number within 5 Km radius of their home branch.
Service charges per visit for non-financial transactions is Rs 60+GST and Rs 100+GST for financial transactions.
Cash withdrawals and deposits are restricted to Rs 20,000 per transaction per day.
HDFC Bank
The private bank provides cash delivery and pick-up and cheque pick-up services through its doorstep banking. To ensure security, HDFC Bank says that it performs multiple verifications and identification to ensure security. Customers can also check the photo ID proof of pick-up person before transacting.
These services will be provided at homes as well as offices with dedicated courier agencies for cheque pick-up and specialised CIT agents for cash pick-up. These transactions are also protected by comprehensive insurance.
You will have to contact your nearest HDFC Bank branch for the service and will be charged a fee of Rs 100-200.
Similarly, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Deutsche Bank are also providing doorstep banking services to its customers. Please check the conditions on these services before availing them.
