As the name implies, RuPay debit cards are similar to any other debit cards. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) initiated the launch of RuPay card in our country. The one advantage that many individuals cite is that the transaction costs are lower here.
RuPay Cards
RuPay Card is an Indian version of credit or debit card. It is just similar to international cards such as Visa cards and Master cards. All the main public sector banks, including SBI, are issuing RuPay cards to all their customers.
Use of RuPay Cards
People with a RuPay card can access their cards in the ATM counters and POS terminals across the country. It will also be accepted on e-commerce websites.
Popularity of RuPay Cards
It is mandatory to give Rupay Debit Card to account holders of Jan Dhan Scheme. Kisan Credit Card (KCC) holders will also get Rupay Debit cum ATM card.
Registration of RuPay Card
Rupay Card online registration have been made mandatory by NPCI for any E-commerce services. Online registration of your RuPay card can be done during your first transaction or on your bank's website.
How to register RuPay Card for online transactions?
The customer of any bank operating in India like SBI, Private and Public Sector Banks may follow the below guidelines to register the RuPay card for the online transaction.
Step 1
Visit the bank's website you are banking with for Rupay Card Registration Page
Step 2
Enter the following details:
- Card number
- Expiry date
- CVD2 number of the Rupay Card
Step 3
An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the Registered mobile number and email id of the customer registered with the bank account. Try to register your present email id and phone number with the bank always.
Step 4
You have to enter the OTP received on your mobile number. National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI) will open the page for selecting the image and entering a phrase.
Step 5
Choose the transaction image from the page. This image will be the trust authentication of the payment in online mode. This picture will appear in any online transaction to validate the correct transaction. This is used to safeguard your transactions from fraud.You have to always remember the image selected.
Step 6
Provide the ATM Pin. You can generate your verified Rupay Card transaction password by this. This password should be remembered for future transactions. For every bank, there will be only a little difference in the process of registering RuPay card online.
Reminder
While making the online purchase using RuPay debit card, ATM pin should be utilized. If you lost your RuPay card or PIN, you should contact the card issuing bank to re-issue the same.
