Debt-laden airline Jet Airways has finally suspended its operations i.e. both domestic and international flights indefinitely. And if you among those who had booked a Jet Airways flight for yourself or your family and friends, here is what you should do:

Notably, the airline flew its last flight on April 17 on the Amritsar-Delhi-Mumbai route. So, now as the carrier has announced temporary shutdown, here is the resource for its customers-

The airline on its part has said that it will pre-inform all the guests about the suspension of flights via emails and messages to the numbers and e-mail addresses provided in the booking details. And so if you have a flight with Jet Airways post-April 18, the airline will make a refund payment for all such advance bookings.

What passengers need to do?

Flyers who have made advance bookings with the carrier need to call or visit the airline's office within 72 hours of the departure of the flight. For information on the nearest Jet Airways office, you can visit the airline's site.

In case the booking is made directly through Jet and if the flight has been suspended beyond 72 hours, passengers need to fill the form provided on the Disruption Assistance page of the website.

Still, in other cases where a Jet Airways flight has been booked through an agent, you need to contact the agent. And for booking made via portals, you need to make a cancellation on the respective site or app and seek refunds against cancelled flights.

For prompt service to such stranded passengers, DGCA and other authorities are vigilant and are ensuring that all rules concerning cancellation, refunds and alternate bookings are strictly met and adhered to.

"Any passenger complaints or issues should be promptly reported to the AirSewa portal or on its mobile app. We will follow up immediately. Our overriding priority remains the safety, convenience, and affordability of our Aviation system. We are assisting airlines and airports to bring in capacity rapidly to ensure that fares remain stable and competitive," it said on Twitter.
