An Aadhaar card is a 12-digit unique identification number that serves as a proof of identity and proof of address. Aadhar cards are also required to receive government subsidies and benefits. However, it is important that your Aadhaar be updated in order to avoid any delays. Cardholders must always keep their data and details up to date. There may be times when you need to update the information on your Aadhar card; for this, you will need a mobile number because the authentication process will take place via your mobile number. Follow the steps below to update the Aadhar card address, name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, and email address on the Aadhaar card online via the UIDAI portal or offline via the Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Centre.

Step1 Go to the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal.
Step 2: In the new window, click the "Login" button.
Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar 12-digit number, captcha code, and click "Send OTP."
Step 4: To access your Aadhaar account, enter the OTP received on the mobile number registered in UIDAI's database.

Step 9: Review the preview of the newly added details and pay the Rs. 50 (non-refundable) online update fee via debit/credit card or net banking.
Following payment, an Update Request Number (URN) is generated, which can be used to track the status of an Aadhaar update request. The updating procedure can take up to 90 days to complete. Once updated, you can download the new version and print your Aadhar card.
