Millions of Indians use IRCTC to book train tickets for domestic travel. It has evolved over time into an application that provides a wide range of travel-related services, including holidays, hotels, tour packages, flights, meal pre-booking, and many others. Customers can book up to six e-tickets without providing their Aadhaar number. However, by linking your Aadhaar card to your IRCTC account, you can get an extra 12 e-tickets per month. The Aadhaar card is a single identity document that can be used to access a number of services. Simply visiting the IRCTC portal allows for simple ticket booking. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) can confirm their booking by sending them messages with a detailed PNR (Passenger Name Record) and other services. Here is how to link aadhaar with an IRCTC account.
Steps to book more than 12 tickets in a month and up to 24 tickets in a month:
- IRCTC Registered Users must have their Aadhaar verified by using the Aadhaar KYC option in My Profile.
- The user's Aadhaar will be verified by sending an OTP to the mobile number associated with his Aadhaar. After successfully submitting the OTP, the user's Aadhaar will be verified.
- When booking more than 12 tickets in a month, at least one (1) passenger must be Aadhaar verified.
- Users must verify potential passengers using their Aadhaar numbers and save the verified passengers in the passenger master list. This should be done before beginning the ticket booking process if you have more than 12 tickets in a month. At the time of booking, the user can add Aadhaar verified passengers from the master list to book up to 24 additional tickets in a month.
How to Link Aadhaar with IRCTC Account Online?
Step 1: Open your web browser and go to www.irctc.co.in.
Step 2: Sign in with your login information.
Step 3: Select the MY ACCOUNT tab and then Link Your Aadhaar.
Step 4: The Aadhaar KYC page will appear; enter your name as it appears on your Aadhaar card, provide your Aadhaar Number or Virtual ID, check the box, and click the Send OTP button.
Step 5: Enter the OTP that was sent to your Aadhaar Registered Mobile Number and click the Verify OTP button.
Step 6: The Aadhaar KYC response is obtained. To finish the Aadhaar verification process, click the Update button.
Step 7: A confirmation message will appear in a pop-up window. After that, close the window and return to www.irctc.co.in. The status of Aadhaar KYC can be checked by selecting the Link Your Aadhaar link under the MY ACCOUNT tab on the top navigation of the IRCTC eTicketing website.
How to add the Aadhaar Number of a Passenger?
Step 1: Open your web browser and go to www.irctc.co.in.
Step 2: Once logged in, navigate to the Add/Modify Master List link in My Profile under the MY ACCOUNT tab on the IRCTC home page.
Step 3: Fill out all of the information on the Add/Modify Master List page, including your name, date of birth, gender, berth preference, food preference, senior citizen concession (if applicable), Aadhaar number. To proceed, click the Submit button.
Step 4: Passengers with provided details will be added to the Master List and can be viewed in the Saved Passenger List.
Step-5: Click on the "Click here to check pending Aadhaar Verification Status" link to verify the passenger's Aadhaar verification details. If the information is correct, the Verification Status will be changed to Verified, and a Success alert will appear on the screen.
How to Book Tickets using Aadhaar Verified Master List?
Step 1: Enter your travel information and look for trains.
Step 2: Select the class and press the "book now" button.
Step 3: Click on the "Select Passenger from Master List" button.
Step 4: Click the "Select passengers" button after selecting the passengers whose information is already saved in the Master List.
Step 5: Your information will be directly added to the booking window, and you can book the ticket using the payment option.
How to reserve more than 12 tickets in a month?
1.To reserve more than 12 tickets, the IRCTC User ID must be Aadhaar Verified.
2. At least one travelling passenger must be Aadhaar Verified.
3. An Aadhaar-verified travelling passenger must be selected from the Saved Passenger List during the booking process.
- After logging in successfully, enter the journey details and proceed to booking.
- Select the desired train/class from the train list page and continue booking. Click on PASSENGER NAME on the passenger input page and select the Aadhaar Verified passenger from the displayed list. This displayed list will include all of the passengers who have been added to the Master List.
- Passenger information will be automatically retrieved from the Reservation form. Only one of the travelling passengers should have an Aadhaar number and should be selected by clicking on PASSENGER NAME.
- Rest passengers' information can be entered using the keyboard. Continue with the booking process.
- Examine the booking information and the Aadhaar number displayed under Travelling Passengers.
- Continue to the payment page after selecting your preferred payment gateway.
- When you make a successful payment, the booking confirmation page will appear.
