Starting from 2026, there will be a slight adjustment to your charge if you have been planning on getting a durable, pocket version of your Aadhaar card. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has officially increased the charges of the Aadhaar PVC card as of January 1, 2026. The price has been hiked from Rs 50 to Rs 75, which now includes the applicable taxes and the speed post delivery fees.

"The Aadhaar PVC Card is a durable, credit-card-sized version of Aadhaar with enhanced security features. It can be ordered online for Rs 75 through the UIDAI website or M-Aadhaar Application," UIDAI mentioned on its website.
Since the PVC card service was introduced back in 2020, this update represents the first price adjustment. The authority aims to maintain the high level of service and security features—such as the tamper-proof QR code, holograms, and microtext—that come with these physical cards by revising the fee.
"Over the years, the cost of materials, printing, secure delivery, and related logistics for Aadhaar PVC Card production and distribution has increased. In view of the rising operational expenditure and with the objective of ensuring continued high-quality service delivery, the Authority has reviewed the existing fee structure," UIDAI said in a statement.
All orders for Aadhaar PVC Cards made using the mAadhaar mobile app or the my Aadhaar portal will be subject to the revised fee starting on January 1, 2026.
UIDAI introduced an online service named "Order Aadhaar PVC Card," which enables Aadhaar holders to pay fees and have their Aadhaar details printed on a PVC card. Simply said, the Aadhaar PVC Card is a more robust and compact form of your Aadhaar. It is equally legitimate as both the paper Aadhaar letter and the e-Aadhaar.
Security Features of Aadhaar PVC Card
As per UIDAI, an Aadhaar PVC Card contains security features like:
1. Tamper-proof QR Code
2. Micro text
3. Ghost image
4. Issue Date & Details as on Date
5. Guilloche Pattern
6. Embossed Aadhaar Logo
