All You Need To Know About Services After Bank of Baroda, Dena Bank And Vijaya Bank Merger

Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank's merger with Bank of Baroda became effective from 1 April 2019.

Consequentially, customers of Bank of Baroda will have access to a total of 8,248 domestic branches and 10,318 ATMs across the country. The amalgamated bank said on 20 December that it has completed the integration/migration of 3,898 branches of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank.

It has also answered common queries of that customers might have post amalgamation.

Bank branches

All Dena and Vijaya Bank branches will become Bank of Baroda branches, which will cause a change in branch name and address in certain cases. While the information will be notified to all Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank customers, they can also find the new details on the official Bank of Baroda website.

Account number and customer identification number

A customer's account number will change on data migration of his/her branch. The change in account number will be notified to customers over their registered mobile number via SMS.

Customer Identification Numbers will also be changed and linked to the allotted customer number.

Debit/ATM cards

Customers of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank can continue with their existing debit card and till the expiry of the debit card. However, on the first usage of the Vijaya Bank or Dena Bank debit card at the ATMs of Bank of Baroda, the ATM will prompt for change of PIN.

The IT systems of the ATMs of the three banks have been upgraded to accommodate the varying number of digits in the account numbers of these lenders.

IFSC/MICR Code

All transactions through NEFT / RTGS / IMPS/ ECS / NACH/ PDCs with the old account number/ IFSC Code/ MICR Code will continue to be honoured for the time being.

However, Bank of Baroda has requested customers to notify/ update the above changes in mandate/instructions (SIPs, ECS, Auto Debit, Demat, Pension) and service providers (Billers/ Institutions/ PPO/ Insurance) registered.

Online banking services

All net banking services will now be available only on https://www.bobibanking.com. To avail mobile banking services, all account-holders will need to download and install Bank of Baroda's app called M-Connect Plus.
