Check PF Balance Online With 4 Quick & Easy Ways

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is a statuary body which assists Central Board in administering compulsory contributory Provident Fund Scheme, Pension Scheme and Insurance Scheme for the workforce engaged in the organised sector in India. Users can check their PF balance, Raise claim, Apply for UAN, Check claim status, apply for Jeevan Pramaan certificate and other services using this app.

An employee contributing to an EPF account will be eligible to check the balance in the EPF account through various online methods. Employees can check their EPF balance via EPFO Member e-Sewa portal, Umang App, SMS or a missed call without any hassle.

In case if employees' EPF is handled by an exempted establishment such as Trust, they must get in touch with their employer to check their PF Balance. Now check PF Balance using the 4 ways given below:

1. EPFO Portal: Employees can access their PF Passbooks on a website run by EPFO. In order to check your PF passbook on the website, you must get your account tagged with your Universal Account Number or UAN. You will be able to print or download your EPF passbook from the website with the following steps given below:

• Visit www.epfindia.gov.in
• Click option "For Employees under "Our Services"
• Click "Member Passbook" listed under "Services"
• You will be redirected to "Sign In|EPF Passbook & Claim Status where in you will be required to enter your UAN Number, Password
• You may also directly go to the page: https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login.jsp

It is worth noting that to access your passbook of EPF account, your UAN Number must be activated by the employer. EPFO provides UAN but it has to be verified and activated by the employer. If your UAN Number has been activated, you may use it, enter your password and log in to check your passbook balance

2. Umang App: Employees will be able to check their PF Balance on their mobile phone simply by using the Umang App. Government of India introduced Umang App to offer access to several government services at a one platform. You can check EPF Passbook, raise claim, and track claim as well using the app. In order to get going, you must complete a one-time registration using your mobile number. You can check PF Balance through Umang App under "View Passbook" tab.

3 SMS: In case employees' UAN has been registered with EPFO, they can fetch the details of their latest contribution and check PF Balance simply by sending an SMS to 7738299899. Employees just need to send the message: EPFOHO UAN ENG. 'ENG' is the first three characters of the preferred language. If you wish to get the message in Hindi, you need to type EPFOHO UAN Hin.

You will be able to select from a total of 10 languages that may include English, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Punjabi, Telugu, Malayalam and Gujarati. The facility is available in 10 languages.

It is important to note that EPFO sends details of members available in its records. You must ensure that UAN is seeded with your respective bank account, PAN, Aadhaar. You may also ask your employer to seed it for you, in case it has not been done yet.

4. Missed Call: If you have been registered on the UAN portal, you can give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number to get the details. You need to ensure that UAN has been seeded with your respective bank account number, PAN, and Aadhaar. The service remains free of cost. It is worth mentioning that your mobile number must be activated with UAN at unified portal.
