PAN Card is a vital document that is required to complete specific duties. Given this, the card, which carries a unique 10-digit alphanumeric number issued by the Income Tax Department, is required.
You may apply for a PAN card online or in person. However, there are other ways to apply for a PAN card. If you are a first-time applicant searching for a quick method to obtain your PAN Card, you may do so using your Aadhaar Number.
What is Instant PAN card facility?
This service provides applicants with a valid Aadhaar number with the option of receiving an Instant PAN (in near-real-time). PAN card is supplied to applicants for free in PDF format. The applicant must enter her or his valid Aadhaar number and submit the OTP generated on her or his registered mobile number.
When the procedure is finished, a 15-digit acknowledgment number is created. After submitting the request, the applicant may check the progress of the request at any time by entering her/his valid Aadhaar number, and upon successful allotment, she/he can download the PAN. In addition, the applicant will obtain a copy of the PAN in the e-mail address registered with the Aadhaar database.
Apply through Aadhaar Card
In this section, we will look at how you may obtain the card online from the NSDL.
Follow the following steps for an instant PAN card:
Step 1: To apply for PAN, you need to visit the e-filing website of the Income-tax department. (www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in)
Step 2: Open the website and click the link- 'Instant PAN through Aadhaar'.
Step 3: Click the link- 'Get New PAN'.
Step 4: Fill in your Aadhaar Number in the space provided, enter the captcha and confirm.
Step 5: The applicant will receive an OTP on the registered Aadhaar mobile number; submit this OTP in the text box on the webpage.
Step 6: After submission, an acknowledgment number will be generated. Please keep this acknowledgment number for future reference.
Step 7: On successful completion, a message will be sent to the applicant's registered mobile number and e-mail id (if registered in UIDAI & authenticated by OTP). This message specifies the acknowledgment number.
The Income Tax Department has issued a PAN card in your name to you. The card will be delivered to you at your mentioned address.
Check the PAN card status online
If you want to know the status of your PAN card but have no idea where to check? The income tax department has also provided a portal to keep an eye on the status of PAN cards online. Follow the below-mentioned steps to know where and how:
Step 1: Visit to https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pantan/StatusTrack.html.
Step 2: In the "Application Type" drop-down box, select "PAN-New/Change Request."
Step 3:Enter your Acknowledgement Number and then press the "Submit" button.
The status of your PAN Card transaction will be displayed on the screen.
