Apart from this, by using an ATM card we can conduct cash transactions even on a non-business day and non-business time.

If in case of a loss of a card or theft of the debit cum ATM card, you have an option to immediately block the respective card to avoid fraudulent transactions.
Let's understand in detail How to Block a Canara Bank ATM card?
There are several ways to block a Canara Bank ATM Card. They are:
- By Calling Customer Care
- Visit the Canara Bank Home Branch
- Through Internet Banking
- Sending an SMS
By Calling Customer Care
Step 1: Call up the customer care of Canara Bank on the toll-free number: 1800 425 0018.
Step 2: Proceed further and choose the IVR option to block your respective ATM card.
Step 3: The call will be connected to the bank's customer care executive.
Step 4: Inform them about your lost card and you want to block the same.
Step 5: Give the card details to the customer care executive.
Step 6: You will be asked to answer a few questions, to verify your authentication like bank account number, your full name, date of birth, mobile number and so on.
Step 7: Once you correctly answer their questions, your card will be blocked by the customer care executive.
Visit the Canara Bank Home Branch
Step 1: Visit your Canara Bank home branch. Here, the home branch refers to the branch wherein you opened the account and handle the same.
Step 2: Inform the concerned officials about your lost ATM cum debit card.
Step 3: Give them the details of the 16-digit ATM card number.
Step 4: Now verify your ownership of the bank account linked to the lost ATM cum debit card.
Through Internet Banking
The debit cardholder can also block the debit card using the internet banking option, but to do so, one should have activated the internet banking account.
Step 1: First, visit the official website of Canara Bank.
Step 2: Now, the login page will open, proceed further and enter your Canara Bank User ID and Password.
Step 3: After successfully logging in, click on Request from the top menu bar,
Step 4: Now click on the debit card hot listing option.
Step 5: Proceed further and select the debit card which you want to block.
Step 6: Choose the right card and click on the 'Confirm' option.
Step 7: Now enter your transaction password and click on the 'Submit' option, the credit card will be blocked.
Sending an SMS
This is one of the fastest methods to block the lost debit card. You will have to send an SMS from your registered mobile number in the below mentioned prescribed format below.
Step 1: First type the SMS in the below-mentioned format.
Step 2: CAN space HOTLISTDC space 16-digit ATM card number
Step 3: Send this SMS to 5607060.
Note: The message has to be sent from your registered mobile number in the bank records. If in case, SMS is sent from any other mobile number which is not found in the bank records, then no action will be taken.
