In order to issue a SIM card for a mobile phone, all operators now use the Aadhaar Card, which has grown to be one of the most crucial documents for establishing your identity as an Indian citizen. It is crucial to understand why we should never share any Aadhaar-related information with anyone because Aadhaar card fraud incidents are rising quickly.

The telecom company issues and activates SIM cards using Aadhaar numbers. As a result, many of these SIMs have been observed to be frequently used for illegal purposes. It is vital to frequently check how many SIMs are active on your Aadhar number to avoid any fraudulent use of the SIMs. SMS will be sent to subscribers who have more than nine SIMs registered in their name, per government regulations.
Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection (TAFCOP), which enables mobile users to check SIM cards registered in their Aadhaar, was recently introduced by the Department of Telecom. TAFCOP is a government web portal that lets users see how many mobile numbers are linked with their Aadhaar number.
How to check the list of SIMs linked to an Aadhaar Number:
Step 1: Visit the official website TAFCOP at www.tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in
Step 2: Enter your Mobile number in the given box.
Step 3: Click on the "Request OTP" tab
Step 4: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number into the box
Step 5: The list of SIM(s) linked with the Aadhaar Number will appear on the screen.
You can block a fake SIM if you discover it on the list. Using this portal, you can also remove a SIM card from your Aadhaar that is no longer in use.
This portal not only helps in providing reliable information, but it also helps in ensuring the safety of the citizens from digital fraud. To stop fraud on your Aadhaar card-related services, numbers that are no longer in use will be discontinued if they are reported.
