Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI website at https://uidai.gov.in and click on "Update Demographics Data Online".
Step 2: Log in with your 12-digit Aadhaar number and verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 3: Select 'Name' correction: Choose the Name field and type your correct full name as per your documents.
Step 4: Upload scanned copies of valid documents like passport, PAN card, voter ID, and marriage certificate.
Step 5: Review all details carefully and submit. You will receive an Update Request Number (URN) to track the status.
Step 6: After verification, your corrected Aadhaar card can be downloaded directly from the UIDAI website.
Ensure your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar, as OTP authentication is mandatory for online updates.
Offline Name Correction at Aadhaar Enrolment Center
If you prefer offline correction, visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or authorised government enrolment centre. Here's how:
Step 1: Complete the Aadhaar update/correction form and enter your correct name.
Step 2: Provide self-attested copies of documents like passport, PAN, voter ID, or marriage certificate.
Step 3: Submit the form at the counter and pay a nominal fee (usually Rs. 50).
Step 4: Staff will perform biometric verification to authenticate your identity.
Step 5: Collect the URN slip to track the update status.
Step 6: Once processed, your corrected Aadhaar card can be downloaded or collected from the centre.
