Aadhaar, a flagship programme launched in 2009 by then Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh has come far from where it was initially in the past 12 years. Aadhaar is now considered one of the important documents every citizen of India should have including children and infants. It is a 12 digit UID (Unique Identity) Number allocated by the Unique Identification Authority Of India on behalf of GOI.
Aadhaar data consists of various information of the individual such as Irish Scan, thumb and fingerprints of both hands, address of the individual and date of birth, mobile number (linked), and email address.
Over the year, the use of the Aadhaar card has changed from just an identity document to more. It has now become an essential document required for all government-related work, opening bank account, LPG connection, any government's scheme, and other similar works. Since its launch, it also become one of the prime mediums of identity proof accepted across the country for every citizen of India.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which is responsible for everything linked to Aadhaar, continues to develop innovative services to help customers who have Aadhaar cards solve their problems. In response to the epidemic, the UIDAI recently announced that Aadhaar card users may now download their cards online at any time and from any location.
UIDAI allows the citizens of India to download the Aadhaar card at their convenience. To download Aadhaar cars all they need is a mobile number linked with their Aadhaar card.
How to download the Aadhaar card from the UIDAI portal:

Step 1: Visit eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and select the 'Download Electronic Copy of Your Aadhaar' option
Step 2: Choose 'Aadhaar Number' as your reference and enter the 12-digit unique ID in the box at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Select the 'I want a Masked Aadhaar' option if you want a masked Aadhaar card.
Step 4: After that, select the Send OTP option. Your Aadhaar-linked mobile number will thereafter get a One Time Password.
Step 5: Once you've received the OTP, enter the OTP and click the 'Submit button.
Step 6: After the OTP has been successfully verified, you may download the PDF version of your Aadhaar by selecting the 'Download Aadhaar' option.

Step 8: For future reference, you may keep the PDF version of your Aadhaar on your phone or computer. For security reasons, the Masked Aadhaar hides the first eight digits of your Aadhaar number.
