The Income Tax Department issues a permanent account number (PAN), which is a ten-digit alphanumeric number printed on a plastic card. Tax payments, TDS/TCS credits, declarations of income, and other transactions are all possible only with a PAN. If a PAN holder loses his or her PAN card and forgets his or her PAN, an incident may occur. If there is no change in PAN data, one can find out his PAN by using the "Reprint of PAN card" option directly through UTIITSL's portal.

For the convenience of the PAN holders, the Income Tax Department has tweeted that "In case, however, you don't remember your PAN details and need to ascertain the PAN for applying for reprint of physical card, please write to us at adg1.systems@incometax.gov.in & jd.systems1.1@incometax.gov.in."
Points to remember while applying for a reprint of PAN Card
- Reprinting a PAN Card is only possible when the individual has already been assigned a PAN but still requires a PAN card in case of loss or damage of the existing one. In such cases, the applicant is given a new PAN card with the same PAN credentials.
- In case there are not any details required to be updated in PAN, an applicant will be allowed to reprint his or her PAN Card.
- PAN holders whose requests were approved through the NSDL e-Gov and/or the Income Tax Department's e-filing portal can apply for this service,
- If the individual is an Indian resident, the applicant must pay an online fee of Rs 50 (including taxes), and if the individual lives outside of India, the applicant must pay a fee of Rs 959 (including taxes).
