State Bank of India (SBI), India's largest public sector bank, offers a number of online and mobile-based services to its customers. Customers of SBI who bank online can use the Secure OTP App. Customers can easily generate OTP through this app for verifying internet banking transactions.Here is how you can register for SBI secure OTP App
What is SBI secure OTP?
SBI Secure OTP is an OTP generation App used to validate transactions made with SBI Internet Banking and the Yono Lite App. The application will eliminate the need for INB transactions to receive the OTP via SMS. After completing the registration process, the application can generate an OTP.
How to register for a Secure OTP application?
Registration process:
- To register the SBI Secure OTP app, download and open it, enter your username, and choose SIM 1 or SIM 2.
- A message will appear on the screen advising the user to send an SMS from the device in order to validate the mobile number.
- When you press the 'Proceed' button, an SMS with a unique code will be sent from the device to a pre-defined number. Please keep in mind that standard SMS charges will apply depending on your SMS plan.
- Enter your password and click the 'Proceed' button. Accept the Terms and Conditions for registration by checking the box and clicking the 'Ok' button.
- An OTP will be sent and after entering the OTP received, the user will be prompted to set the MPIN for the SBI Secure OTP app.
- An activation code will be received which is valid for the next 10 minutes.
- The user must finish the activation process by logging into OnlineSBI.
How to Activate the Process at OnlineSBI?
- Login to OnlineSBI, go to your profile, and click the Activate Secure OTP link.
- Enter the activation code you were given.
- After validating the activation code, the user will be able to register for the SecureOTP app.
- Please keep in mind that the OTP authentication method for Internet Banking/Yono Lite will be changed to State Bank Secure OTP. OTP will no longer be sent to the user via SMS.
- Log in to the SBI Secure OTP application with your MPIN.
Note: Use the same SIM card that was used for registration to generate the Secure OTP.

The application can be used by any internet banking user to generate OTP for INB-related transactions/activities.
Can I install the application on multiple phones?
No. Once you've registered for the application on one device, you must use that same device to generate OTP. If you want to register from another phone, insert the same SIM card into the new handset and follow the registration process
What happens if I forget my application's mPIN?
After three unsuccessful attempts to login to your application or clicking on 'Forgot MPIN,' you will be redirected to the app launch page and must re-register for the Secure OTP application by following the above-mentioned registration process..
How to unregister the application from your mobile device?
To de-register from the SBI Secure OTP App, go to Onlinesbi "Profile >> High Security Options" or click on the de-register option in the application's 'Settings' menu.
