Aadhaar has become a most important document needed for various services.Aadhaar number must be linked to income tax records, bank accounts, insurance policies,etc. While attempting to access Aadhaar-related services people frequently misplace or forget their Aadhaar, also known as their Unique Identification Number (UID) or Enrolment Identification Number (EID).To mitigate this risk, the UIDAI offers a service for retrieving lost or forgotten UID/EID. Here is How to Retrieve Lost / Forgotten Aadhaar UID/EID Online?
Step 1: Go to the UIDAI's official website at uidai.gov.in.
Step 2: Now, click 'Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID' under the 'My Aadhaar' tab.
Step 3: Choose whether you want to retrieve your EID or Aadhaar number.
Step 4: Enter your full name, phone number/email address, and captcha code.
Step 5: Click the 'Send OTP' button to have an OTP sent to your registered mobile phone number.
Step 6: Enter the received OTP. After verification, your Aadhaar Number/Enrolment ID will be sent to your registered mobile number/email ID.
Here is How to Retrieve Lost / Forgotten Aadhaar UID/EID Offline?
Step 1: Go to an Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Permanent Enrolment Centre near you.
Step 2: Enter your demographic and biometric information.
Step 3: After the UIDAI database has been verified, you can obtain your UID/EID and even download your Aadhaar card and obtain a printout of the same at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra for a nominal fee of Rs. 30.
How to get a new one printed?
Step 1: Go to https://uidai.gov.in or https://resident.uidai.gov.in to get started.
Step 2: Tap on the "Order Aadhaar Card"option.
Step 3: Enter your Unique Identification Number (UID), Virtual Identification Number (VID), or Enrollment ID.
Step 4: Enter the security code.
Step 5: If you do not have a registered mobile number, check the box and enter a non-registered / alternate mobile number.
Step 6: Enter the OTP received and then click on "Terms and Conditions".
Step 7: Click on the "Submit" button to finish OTP verification.
Step 8: Select "Payment" from the drop-down menu. You will be taken to a Payment Gateway page where you can pay using a credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
After a successful payment, a receipt will be generated that can be downloaded.
