Customers of Punjab National Bank (PNB) will be able to register on the PNB ONE app using their Aadhaar credentials and OTP-based authentication. The lender claims to be the first to offer onboarding on its flagship application via Aadhaar-OTP authentication.
A one-time PIN is sent to the Aadhaar card holder's registered mobile number during Aadhaar-OTP authentication. The OTP is only valid for a limited time. The Aadhaar card holder must provide his or her Aadhaar card number and the OTP sent to their mobile number for Aadhaar-OTP authentication. To use Aadhaar-OTP authentication, your mobile number must be linked to your Aadhaar card.
What is the use of the feature?
This feature will allow for onboarding via Aadhaar OTP. Aadhaar OTP authentication can be used for the following functions in addition to registration: Enable User (Pre login), Set/Reset TPIN (Post login), and Set Limits (Post login).
PNB customers can now log into the PNB ONE app with their Aadhaar card details and use the app's various features. Some key features include Scan & Pay, account statements, funds transfers, and balance inquiries, as well as cardless cash withdrawals, pre-approved personal loans, pre-qualified credit cards, and IPO services.
The new self-registration mechanism will eliminate the need for a debit card for registration and provide a more seamless and user-friendly onboarding experience on PNB One. Customers who do not have our debit card will be able to register on the PNB ONE app using their Aadhaar numbers and OTP-based authentication.
According to the bank, PNB ONE offers a wide range of quick, convenient, and hassle-free services to its customers. It went on to say that the bank already offers several ways for customers to sign up for PNB ONE - Punjab National Bank's revamped mobile application, and that it has now added an even more convenient way. As a result, the latest advancement of Aadhar card-based registration will aid PNB in providing its diverse services across the country.
