The Government of Maharashtra, in one of its latest updates, announced that it will provide a Diwali bonus as a part of the Mukhyamantri Maajhi Ladki Bahin Yojana 2024. This move is aimed at empowering women and providing financial relief during the festive season, enabling them to celebrate Diwali with greater joy and financial security. According to a latest announcement, authorities will transfer the fourth and fifth installments for the months of October and November, totaling Rs 3000, to the bank accounts of selected women beneficiaries as part of the Ladki Bahin Yojana Diwali Bonus 2024 initiative.

How to Avail the Diwali Bonus:
To receive the Diwali bonus, the women in Maharashtra need to register under the latest scheme, Mukhya Mantri Maajhi Ladki Bahin Yojana 2024, if they meet the following criteria:
- Age: The beneficiary must be between the ages of 18 and 65.
- Domicile: She must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
- Family Income: The annual family income should be below 2.5 lacs or less.
- Educational Qualification: The beneficiary must have completed at least 10th standard.
- Bank Account: Applicants must have a bank account linked with Aadhaar in their name.
What is the Ladki Bahin Yojana and How to Apply?
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on 17th August that the Government of Maharashtra has launched a new scheme called Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin to uplift and empower the Maharastrian women from lower-income households, providing them financial support. More than one crore women in the state will receive Rs. 1,500 per month in direct financial support from the government as a part of this initiative. The government has set Rs. 46,000 crore annual budget for the scheme. This move is expected to have a huge impact on the upcoming Maharashtra election in November, creating a sense of goodwill among women voters of the state.
Eligibility criteria:
This initiative benefits women aged 21 to 65 who are residents of Maharashtra. It applies to women who are married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, or destitute, and one unmarried woman in the family. Furthermore, women with a combined annual family income of Rs 2,50,000 or less are covered under this scheme.

To apply for the scheme, applicants need to provide several essential documents:
- For identity verification: Aadhaar Card, Identity Card or Certificate, Bank Account Details, Caste Certificate, Residence Certificate, Age Proof, and a Ration Card, Voter ID
- Income Proof (though yellow and orange ration card holders are exempt from this requirement),
- Domicile Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- A passport-size photograph

- Go to the official Ladki Bahin Maharashtra Portal to apply for the Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme. https://ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/
- On the right corner of the homepage, select Applicant Login.
- Enter your mobile number and create a new account.
- Enter all the required details in the registration form in the space provided. Make sure the information entered is correct and valid.
- Once everything is submitted, review and click on signup to conclude the registration process.
- The submitted documents will then be verified by the concerned authorities.
Once the application is approved, the Diwali bonus amount will be disbursed directly into the beneficiary's bank account who has received prior installments.
