Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday announced the release of the 13th instalment of approximately Rs 16,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi to eligible farmers in Belagavi, Karnataka. The scheme provides eligible farmer families with a benefit of Rs 6000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2000 each. Modi's Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, launched in 2019, aims to provide income support to all landholder farmer families with cultivable land across the country, subject to certain exclusions. We transferred over Rs 2.5 lakh crore to farmers' bank accounts in the country through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. More than Rs 50,000 crore, in particular, has been credited to women farmers, he added.
The latest instalment will see Rs 2,000 deposited into the bank accounts of eligible farmers, benefiting over 8 crore people. The Scheme's 11th and 12th installments were distributed in May and October of last year. It should be noted that eKYC is required for PM KISAN Registered Farmers to receive the Rs 2,000 financial assistance under the scheme.

How to check if your name is on the beneficiary list?
Step 1: Go to the PM KISAN Scheme's official website, https://pmkisan.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, scroll down to find the 'Farmers Corner' section.
Step 3: Select Beneficiaries List from the drop-down menu.
Step 4: Now, select State, District, Sub District, Block, and Village.
Step 5: Finally, click the 'Get Report' button.
Step 6: Beneficiaries list will appear now with your name at the top.
The PM KISAN, launched in 2019, aims to provide income support to all landholder farmer families in the country with cultivable land, subject to certain exclusions. The Scheme provides Rs 6,000 per year in three installments of Rs 2,000 each, which are deposited directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts. Under PM KISAN, all landholding farmer families in the country are eligible, subject to certain exclusion criteria. Over 2.25 lakh crores of funds have been distributed to over 11 crore farmer families, primarily the poor and marginalised. Notably, during the Covid-19 lockdown, Rs. 1.75 lakh crores were disbursed in multiple instalments to help these impoverished farmers. The Scheme has also benefited over three crore women beneficiaries, who have received funds totaling Rs 53,600 crores.
How to check PM KISAN scheme status online?
Step 1: Go to the PM KISAN Scheme's official website, https://pmkisan.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, scroll down to find the 'Farmers Corner' section.
Step 3: Go to the Farmers Corner section and select the Beneficiaries Status option.
Step 4: You have the option of searching by Mobile Number or Registration Number.
Step 5: Enter one of the entries and the Captcha.
Step 6: Select 'Get Data'.
