The government of India, in an attempt to resolve and felicitate the Defence veterans, launched a dedicated pensioners portal named Raksha Pension Shikayat Nivaran Portal. The portal was launched by the Hon'ble Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans' Day observed every year on January 14th. In addition, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced three new schemes for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families. The Raksha Pension Shikayat Nivaran Portal is aimed at resolving disputes over ESMs and their families' family pensions and will benefit current and future military retirees.

Raksha Pension Shikayat Nivaran Portal - An Overview
The Indian Defence personal is big in number without any doubt, and the number of Ex-Servicemen and their dependents are also big in number. Looking at the numbers, the DESW (Department Of Ex-Servicemen Welfare) receives a number of grievances on a range of problems, including pension-related difficulties. However, the department view these pension-related grievances alongside other grievances, some pension/family pension/disability pension-related grievances get lost in the shuffle. A dedicated pension grievance redressal platform was thought to be necessary to facilitate prompt and effective redress of these issues. The Portal is committed to resolving pension, including family pension, and associated grievances of Ex-Servicemen and their descendants in an efficient and timely manner. Applicants will be able to direct their issues to the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare using this portal i.e, https://rakshapension.desw.gov.in
How it will benefit the Defence Pensioners and their Dependents?
Every year, about 60k Armed Forces personals retire or are discharged from their active duty, the majority of them are between the ages of 35 and 45. The portal is designed and launched to felicitate the problems faced by these defense pensioners or Ex-Servicemen and their dependents. Using the portal the Ex-servicemen can file their problems such as schooling and marriage allowances for ESM widows and dependent children of veterans. An application on the portal will automatically produce and send SMS and e-mail to the applicants on their registered mobile number and e-mail address, informing them of the registration of their grievance and allowing them to follow its status. Applicants can also submit comments in order to improve the quality of grievance resolution. This platform might be used by almost 25 lakh current and prospective military retirees.
