HDB Financial Services IPO Listing: HDB Financial Services is set to make its stock market debut on Tuesday, July 2, 2025 on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), after the successful closure and allotment of its Rs 12,500 crore initial public offering (IPO).
Backed by HDFC Bank, one of India's top private lenders, HDB Financial's IPO has drawn massive interest from institutional investors, while retail participation remained relatively muted.

HDB Financial Services IPO Details:
The IPO, priced between Rs 700 and Rs 740 per share, witnessed strong interest, especially from Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs). The overall subscription stood at 17.6 times, making it one of the most oversubscribed IPOs in recent years. The QIB portion alone saw bids 58.64 times its reserved quota, reflecting significant confidence in the company's long-term prospects.
However, retail investors were more cautious. The retail category was subscribed just 1.51 times, while Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) subscribed 10.55 times. The allotment for the IPO was finalized on June 30, with listing scheduled for July 2.
HDB Financial Services GMP:
HDB Financial Services shares are trading at a premium of Rs 71 in the grey market per share at 2.30 PM. This suggests a potential listing price of Rs 811, about 9.59% above the IPO's upper price band of Rs 740, suggestes investogain.com. While, Grey Market Premiums (GMP) are unofficial and subject to change, they often provide a preview of investor sentiment before a stock begins trading.
Expert Outlook on HDB Financial Services:
Experts believe the IPO shows a difference in how investors feel. Big institutional investors are confident and are investing because they believe India's credit market is growing and becoming more organized. On the other hand, small retail investors were more careful, worried about the high share price and not expecting big profits when the stock starts trading.
"We believe that HDB should be valued at a substantial discount to Bajaj Finance. Its superior parentage and asset quality performance lead us to believe that it is attractively valued from a long-term perspective upon comparing with Chola, which has ROA of 2.4% and is being valued at 5.5x FY25 compared to HDB's 3.4x (post IPO). Also, HDB's valuation is in line with the peer average, which provides us comfort. Therefore, we recommend 'Subscribe' to the issue, with a Long-term 'Positive' outlook,." Said Nirmal Bang In a research note.
Motilal Oswal also highlighted the company's operational strength, stating, "The company's phygital sourcing network is composed of its own internal distribution network, external distribution network as well as its digital capabilities. HDB has a pan-India presence with no region accounting for more than 35% of total gross loans as at March 31, 2025."
What Should Investors Do?
While the grey market shows signs of a positive listing, experts caution that the GMP is unofficial and may change with market mood. However, strong support from big investors and favorable economic trends could help the stock do well after it lists.
"We expect that its AUM and disbursement will witness higher growth compared to FY25, led by higher urban and rural consumer demand driven by government's intervention in reducing income tax rates, RBI's efficient inflation management and expected cuts in GST rates for the overall consumption basket," noted Deven Choksey Research IPO report.
About HDB Financial Services:

HDB Financial Services has a strong distribution model that blends digital tools with a wide physical branch network. Its close link to HDFC Bank, one of India's top private lenders, also adds to its strength.
