DAM Capital Advisors Limited, one of India's fastest-growing investment banks, is set to enter the primary market with its initial public offering (IPO). The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has granted final observation to the company, allowing it to proceed with the fundraising process. DAM Capital had submitted its draft papers to SEBI on September 9, 2024, and is now gearing up for its public debut.
IPO Details
The DAM Capital Advisors IPO will be an entirely offer-for-sale (OFS) issue, comprising 3.2 crore equity shares. This means there will be no fresh issuance of shares, with existing stakeholders diluting their holdings instead. Nuvama Wealth Management has been appointed as the sole merchant banker for the offering.
About DAM Capital
DAM Capital Advisors has become a leading investment bank, offering a wide array of financial services. These include equity capital markets (ECM), mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity (PE), and structured finance advisory, alongside institutional equities services such as brokerage and research.

The company has also emerged as a key player in India's IPO and Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) space, holding a 12.1% market share in terms of the number of deals during Fiscal 2024.
Financial Performance
DAM Capital's total income soared to Rs 182 crore in Fiscal 2024, an increase from Rs 85 crore in 2023 and Rs 94.5 crore in 2022. This represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38.77% over the three years.
Even more striking is the growth in profit after tax (PAT), which surged to Rs 70.5 crore in Fiscal 2024. This is a rise from Rs 8.6 crore in 2023 and Rs 21.8 crore in 2022, reflecting a CAGR of 79.46%.
About the Team
As of July 31, 2024, DAM Capital Advisors employs a team of 115 professionals with diverse expertise across various sectors and product lines. This team-driven approach has enabled the firm to cater to a wide range of clients and deliver tailored solutions.
Industry Context
DAM Capital's IPO comes at a time when India's financial services sector is witnessing rapid expansion, fueled by increased market activity and investor interest. The company's track record in managing high-profile IPOs, QIPs, and M&A deals positions it to capitalize on this growth.
The DAM Capital IPO is expected to attract interest from investors, given the company's robust financials, market leadership, and promising growth trajectory. While the OFS structure means the proceeds won't directly fund business expansion, it provides an opportunity for existing stakeholders to unlock value while offering new investors a chance to participate in the company's success story.
