International gold hits 10-month low

International gold slipped to 10 month low as investors closed off bets in the yellow metal to cover losses in equities.

Sentiment was affected after weak U.S. private-sector job report. International gold was seen trading at $1,546 an ounce.

Also, the strong greenback makes the gold expensive for those holding other currencies, thus dampening demand for yellow metal.

Domestically, gold futures recovered from loses and was seen trading marginally higher by Rs 29 at Rs 28,855 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange at 2.40 pm IST.

Mumbai

Mumbai spot gold of 99.9 and 99.5% purity was seen at Rs 29,265 and Rs 29,400 per 10 grams, respectively.

Delhi

Delhi spot gold of 99.9 and 99.5% purity was seen at Rs 29,500 and Rs 29,300 per 10 grams, respectively.

Chennai

Chennai spot gold of 99.9 and 99.5% purity was seen at Rs 29,380 and Rs 29,260 per 10 grams, respectively.

Jaipur

Jaipur spot gold of 99.9 and 99.5% purity was seen at Rs 29,175 and Rs 29,150 per 10 grams, respectively.

Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad spot gold of 99.9 and 99.5% purity was seen at Rs 29,235 and Rs 29,110 per 10 grams, respectively.
