New Delhi, Oct 23: The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp today reported a 9.26 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 481.41 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 440.58 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.

Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 5,696.46 crore against Rs 5,151.18 crore during the same quarter last fiscal, up 10.58 per cent.

In terms of unit volume, the company said its sales grew 6.26 per cent to 14,16,276 units from 13,32,805 units. Shares of Hero MotoCorp closed at Rs 2,086.35 per scrip, up 0.79 per cent.
