Vishal Sikka to takeover as new MD and CEO of Infosys

Dr Vishal Sikka will takeover as the new CEO and Managing Director of Infosys from August 1, 2014. He will be replacing S D Shibulal the current CEO and MD of the company.

Dr Sikka was until recently a Executive Board Member of SAP AG, leading all products and driving innovation at the company.

He holds a PHD in Computer Science from Stanford University, USA.

The Board of Infosys has also elevated U B Pravin Rao as the Chief Operating Officer of the company with effect from June 14, 2014. Rao is currently the President and Whole Time Director of the company.

Infosys also announced that N Narayana Murthy and S Gopalakrishnan would step down as Executive Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman of the company from June 14, 2014.

Mr. Murthy will be designated as Chairman Emeritus on account of his contributions to the company.
