The rupee opened the day virtually unchanged at 61.81 to the dollar. Dealers say the rupee is likely to remain steady through the day in the absence of any major triggers.
The rupee had last week breached the 62 levels but has been less volatile this week on the back of dollar inflows from FIIS.
Meanwhile, equities are expected to open on a quiet note, even as the US Dow Jones hit a new life time high. Asian markets were trading flat in early trade. Check currency rates here
