Shares of Nestle India plunged more than 9 per cent on Wednesday over excess lead content in the Maggi Noodles.

According to reports, the Delhi government said that the Department of Food Safety had tested few samples of Maggi and found that it is unsafe and there are chances that it may face ban in the city.

Kerala government has already ordered a pullout of Maggi noodles from outlets run by Government.

According to reports, even other states like Karnataka, Haryana, Goa are conducting tests on Maggi.

Yesterday, Nestle India said that lead levels are well within the limits specified by food regulations and that MAGGI noodles are safe to eat.

The shares of the company were seen trading at Rs 6235, lower by 8.41 per cent on BSE at 10.33 AM IST. It touched an intra-day low of Rs 6119 during the trade.
