The Ministry of Labour and Employment on Monday amended the para from EPF scheme 1952.

The government has made it mandatory for employers to pay statuary contributions electronically through internet banking only.

Earlier, the employer used to make payment of less than Rupees one lakh in a particular month payments options like banks draft, cheques drawn on local bank only.

This option is valid only upto the month of September, 2015. Thereafter, it will be made mandatory for all employers to make payments online through internet banking.

This order is being issued considering the fact that many of the participating employers having small work force may not readily have facility of internet banking, said the order copy.
