Benchmark indices ended the day flat as markets awaited the monsoon session of parliament to kick-start and also the results of Infosys to be announced later on Tuesday.

Leading the set of losers were banking stocks like Punjab National Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Union Bank of India.
Tata Motors and Hindustan Unilever were the other stocks that lost ground in trade.
Buying was seen in stocks like Bharti, Hindalco and Mahindra and Mahindra. Infosys ended with gains ahead of its results and was joined by gains in other IT stocks like TCS and Wipro.
Jewellery stocks had a good session in trade following a crash in gold prices. TBZ and Gitanjali ended the day with solid gains.
Ultratech Cement ended the day flat after profits at the firm fell marginally in trade. Mid cap stocks had a good session in trade with the index ending higher. Tata Global and Tata Chemicals were the major gainers from the space.
Meanwhile, markets across Asia had a mixed session, while most of Europe were trading with good gains.
