Indian Markets Closed For Trading; Asian Markets Up

Indian markets were closed today on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. Asian markets were trading higher led by gains in the Japanese Nikkei. However, the Shanghai Composite was trading lower.

Global markets await the outcome of a US Fed meeting due later today. The Fed will decide on whether to increase interest rates or keep interest rates steady at the conclusion of a 2-day policy meet.

A decision is due later at 11.30 pm IST on Sept 17.

The Japanese Nikkei was up 1.28 per cent, Taiwan Weighted 1.5 per cent, while the Shanghai composite dropped almost a per cent after Thursday's 5 per cent gains.
