The IT company is in yet another mess and needs to cough a heavy fine of 1 million $ due to non-conformance to the US visa laws.
After seeing several top-level exits which supposedly shall wreak the earnings of the company from the US markets, the Bangalore-based IT service is in yet another trouble. Now, the company has not conformed to the Visa rules laid down by the United States.

The company has engaged in using temporary visas called as B-1visas that are easily obtained in comparison to H-1B visas. And on the back of it, as stated by Eric Schneiderman, New York Attorney General, the State has reached a 1 million $ settlement with the IT major for flouting its visa norms.
AG late Friday was quoted saying "We will not permit companies to violate our laws in order to undercut New York workers. My office is committed to ensuring that our state's labor marketplace is fair, competitive and transparent for all".
Apart from abusing the state's laid-down visa rules, the company also flouted on properly compensating several workers and paying applicable taxes. The statement from the AG office also said "Because they apply only to visits, B-1 visa holders are not permitted to perform work of the kind Infosys workers were sent to New York to do, and they are not subject to the H1-B prevailing wage requirements".
The company provides outsourcing and consulting service to many of the US-based companies in the financial services vertical amongst others.
The settlement amount agreed upon is inclusive of the recovery for tax damages and other penalties and applicable damages.
