As per the announcement of RBI, the apex bank is currently mullling to redesign its Rs. 100 bank notes.
As per a report by a leading news daily, RBI is mulling to print new Rs. 100 notes from April next year. The new redesigned Rs. 100 notes will be printed after Rs. 200 notes are printed by the end of the current FY.

Further as per sources, the current Rs. 100 notes shall continue to be legal tender and would be withdrawn on a gradual basis. Also, to be compatible with the ATMs, the new Rs. 100 note shall retain their original size and dimension.
Rs. 100 currency is one of the most commonly used denomination in India. In 2016, RBI announcement the redesigning of all currencies and also introduced new currency of Rs. 2000 after the demonetisation move.
Lately it has also introduced Rs. 200 notes and printing of it is still underway.
