All existing Jio Prime subscribers who have already paid the Rs 99 membership fee before 31st March, 2018 will get another year of complimentary service. Those who join the network after April 1 will, however, will have to pay Rs 99 membership fee.

In order to avail the free service upto 31 March 2019, the existing Jio users who had paid for Prime will have to activate it through opt-in service from the "MyJio" app.
In a statement, Jio said, "The continued availability of the Jio Prime membership to new subscribers reiterates Jio's commitment to deliver a differentiated Digital Life experience to Indians, and will propel this into the world's largest loyalty programme."
The prime subscription allows Jio users get special discount offers made the company from time to time.
The statement also revealed that Reliance Jio now has 175 million users in India.
