Jet Airways today announced flight tickets for domestic routes for as low as Rs. 967 for the Udan flights that it plans to start by the next month. The full-service air carrier on Monday announced to operate its flights under the government's regional connectivity Udan scheme from June 14 and the first flight shall be taken off on the Lucknow-Allahabad-Patna route.

As part of the second round of bidding for the Udan flights that took place in January this year, Jet airways secured 4 routes of the total 325 routes distributed amongst several operators.
The other routes of the carrier include New Delhi-Nashik, Nagpur-Allahabad-Indore and Lucknow-Bareilly-Delhi.
In a release, the company notified that price for the Lucknow-Allahabad-Patna flight under the government's Udan scheme is pegged at Rs. 967 while for Patna-Allahabad-Patna route it remains at Rs. 1,216.
The airfare for Nagpur-Allahabad-Nagpur route will be Rs. 1,690, while that for Indore-Allahabad-Indore flight will be 1,914.
As part of the scheme, for a one-hour air travel, the air fare has been pegged at Rs. 2500.
Also, as nearly half of the seats are being offered at subsidized rates as part of the Udan scheme, the participating air carriers will become eligible for viability gap funding or VGF that will be shared by the Centre and the concerned states.
Udan or Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik scheme aims to boost air connectivity to the remote and under-developed area. In March 2017, as many as 128 regional routes were awarded to 5 airlines. The scheme is being financed by charging a levy of Rs. 5000 per departure from airlines that operate from major routes that include Delhi and Mumbai.
